CLAMPS & SAFETY CABLES
'Lighting' Fixtures; Par Cans, Scanners, Moon Flowers and various other LED and/or Incandescent Fixtures as well as Various Lasers and Strobes in addition to 'Effect' Machines; Foggers, Bubble Makers, Haze and Snow Machines just to mention a few, are no longer high priced unaffordable accessories. These products are now common at Weddings, Socials, Theme Parties and General Performances. It is no longer necessary to hire a Lighting Technician to operate them and for the most part they are simple to run or set up so you control their functions through an inexpensive DMX Control Panel. Even simpler, most of these products can be set to 'Automatic' and they will switch through their various functions in accord with a pre-set internal program or to 'Sound Control' so they will vary their display in accord with the Intensity of the Music. Fixtures which once cost thousands of dollars may now be purchased for a fraction of the cost with Positive and Negative results. LED technology has reduced the heat generated in many fixtures and greatly reduced the reported incidents of burns suffered by persons who intentionally or unintentionally came in contact with hot fixtures. Water based formulas (Replacing Oil Based) now used in many products for Foggers, Hazers, Bubble Machines, etc., reduced the discomfort many people experienced breathing in their output and also reduced staining caused by oil based formulas. In most instances, the fixtures will be suspended from some structure and herein lies a major problem. We see fixtures suspended from; Stands designed for this purpose, water pipes, electric cables and almost any other contrivance you can imagine and the means of securing them ranged from Clamps designed for this purpose, coat hangers, bungee cords, string and rope of various grades and even duct tape. One fixture consistency is weight. Due to construction material it’s common to find fixtures no bigger than a shoe box weighing in at 20 pounds or more. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict what can happen if this fixture comes down on someone's head. Try to visualize a 20 pound metal shoe box with sharp corners and various projections falling on your head from some height. In retrospect it may have been a real good idea to ensure the stability of the suspending structure, the clamping devices and safety chains when hanging the fixture. We have intentionally kept the cost of clamping devices and safety cables to a minimum. It is our sincere hope purchasers of lighting and effects devices will take advantage of these low prices and ensure their display will not only be one of the very best, it will rank as one of the safest. |
